CRAYTON ROBEY
Crayton Robey, a native of Houston, Texas and a graduate of Howard University, makes his directorial debut with the award winning documentary, WHEN OCEAN MEETS SKY. His first screenplay, “Mary Audrey,” was a finalist for the Guy Hanks/Marvin A. Miller Screenwriting Fellowship sponsored by Bill and Camille Cosby. On the horizon, Crayton has collaborated with Carson Kressley in writing “Pines ’79,” a film about the final days of hedonism in the 1970’s, which is currently being co-produced by Howard Rosenman. He is also working on HOUNDOG, a screenplay based on the life of Crayton’s grand uncle the rhythm and blues impresario Don Robey. Crayton is also directing the upcoming documentary “Who do You Have to F*** to Get a Drink around Here?” an intimate account of the groundbreaking gay classic “Boys in the Band” in honor of its upcoming 40th anniversary. |
